Hortatory Exposition

Hortatory exposition is a type of spoken or written text that is intended to explain the listeners or readers that something should or should not happen or be done. To strengthen the explanation, the speaker or writer needs some arguments as the fundamental reasons of the given idea. this kind of text can be called as argumentation. Hortatory exposition text can be found in scientific books, journals, magazines, newspaper articles, academic speech or lectures, research report etc. Hortatory expositions are popular among science, academic community and educated people. The generic structure of Hortatory exposition usually has three components: (1) Thesis, (2) Arguments and (3) Recommendation.

A.Generic Structure of Hortatory Exposition

1. Thesis : Statement or announcement of issue concern
2. Arguments : Reasons for concern that will lead to recommendation
3. Recommendation : Statement of what should or should not happen or be done based on the given arguments

Go Green School

Have a school that is green,clean,and healty is own pride for a school. In this day and age, it’s difficult to find a green school. Most of the school mainly in the big city don’t have an attantion about school environment. The school only focuses on a good facilities to study such LCD TV, Air Conditioner (AC), slide projector. Nevertheless, the school that is have a good environment is one of the factor to make students comfort when they study. Good teachers are the most important factor in improving student performance, but healthy school facilities contribute significantly as well.

School environment that is green and environment-friendly will teach the students to respect other living creatures in this case plants, and the environment. The school can make a program Go green like planting a thousand flowers. When the school make this program, it would involve the students to participate to help the school program success. Students can participate by bringing a plant. Furthermore students will have a responsibility to look after the plants. When they take care of their plants they will respect other living creatures and the environment.

School which have a Go Green program also can help to reduce global warming. As we know,  Global warming is affecting many parts of the world.  Global warming makes the sea rise, and when the sea rises, the water covers many low land islands.  This is a big problem for many of the plants, animals, and people on islands.  The water covers the plants and causes some of them to die.  When they die, the animals lose a source of food, along with their habitat.  Although animals have a better ability to adapt to what happens than plants do, they may die also. If the school have many plants, it will reduce the global warming and of course the atmosphere around the school would be more cool and comfortable.

The green school will help the students to have convenient learning atmosphere. green schools can improve the health of students, faculty and staff, potentially decreasing sick days. children’s instincts always direct them to be more green. We should give every young person the means to maximize the environment of their schools. It wil be a special one of being go green in the school, because today, it’s pretty difficult to discover a school that is green, so the school would be proud of it.  

schools can make a difference to have a good environment and reduce global warming by go green. It will have many benefit of being a green school. Schools can demonstrate their commitment to going green by creating a no idling policy.  Turn the buses off while the drivers wait for the children to exit the buildings. Encourage carpooling, walking, and riding a bike to school. Conserve energy at every opportunity as a cost-effective program for the school and a lesson in energy conservation for the student body.
